Ohio Vet's Car Hits Five Pedestrians At Memorial Day Parade

Comments Off

A vehicle driven by a World War II veteran went off the road and struck five pedestrians that were lined up for a Memorial Day Parade, Ohio police said.

The driver, Everett Cole, 84, hit a tree in front of a house in West Chester after rolling over. He was conscious and able to talk with rescue personnel as they extracted him from the vehicle. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.

Witnesses say it appears Cole had a medical issue before he lost control of his car.

Three of the five injured pedestrians were taken to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.

Cole was assigned to drive a car in the parade on Monday morning. The accident delayed the start of the parade by 30 minutes.
