Animal Tracking Explorer Kit Recalled by MindWare

Comments Off

MindWare, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced a voluntary recall of its Animal Tracking Explorer Kit. The powder included in the kit marked “Plaster of Paris” is calcium hydroxide, which can pose a risk of eye and skin irritation to children who handle the product.

The recalled product includes a bag of white powder, nature study tools and equipment (field lens, labels, specimen jars, paper clips, notebooks etc.) and an Explorer Guide.

The company has not received any reports of injuries to date, but they advise consumers to dispose of the material marked “Plaster of Paris” to avoid injury.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately and to contact MindWare for a refund or a free replacement product. More information can be found on MindWare’s website.
