Earthentree Recalls Wooden Toys for Strangulation Hazard

Comments Off

Earthentree, in cooperation with the U.S. Product Safety Commission, announced a voluntary recall of wooden toy rattles because small parts can detach, posing a choking hazard to children.

The recalled rattles violate the federal rattle standard. Some of the toys have a string longer than 12 inches, which can pose a strangulation hazard to small children.

The company has not received any injury reports.

Several wooden toys are included in the recall: toy trains, pull toys, rattles and egg shakers (maracas). The toys are painted a glossy brown, green, natural wood or yellow.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled toys immediately and take them from small children. Earthentree should be contacted for an exchange or refund.

Consumer Information: Contact Earthentree at (800) 963-1593 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.earthentree.com/recall.asp
