Nurture Inc. Recalls Select Baby Foods Due to a Packaging Defect

Comments Off

Nurture Inc. announced a voluntary recall of certain varieties of HAPPYTOT Stage 4 and HAPPYBABY Stage 1 and Stage 2 pouch meals. The affected baby food products have a date code expiring between November 2010 and January 2011.

The recall was prompted due to a packaging defect that could lead the pouches to swell or leak. Swollen or leaking packages can indicate the presence of botulinum or other bacteria that could cause illness.

The recalled products were sold at 300 retail locations nationwide. A detailed list of products included in the recall along with corresponding UPC numbers, can be found in the FDA Press Release.

To date there has been one report regarding swollen and leaking packages, but no illnesses.

Nurture is working with the US Food and Drug Administration and the contract manufacturer to correct the matter.

The affected products should not be consumed. Consumers can return the products to place of purchase for a full refund or contact the company directly for a refund or exchange.

Call Nurture at 212-374-2779. For more information, visit the FDA Web site.
