Safety concerns have prompted the recall of thousands of cribs sold in the United States and Canada.
Graco-brand, LaJobi Cribs, (with a drop side) have been linked to 99 incidents. No serious injuries have been reported. A list of crib brands and corresponding model numbers and photos can be found on the CPSC News Release.
More than 217,000 Simplicity cribs, are also involved in the recall. The CPSC warns of a potential suffocation and strangulation hazard. The agency said the Simplicity recall was linked to at least one death. In fact, the Simplicity brand has been linked to a dozen or more recalls dating back to 2005.
The CPSC reminds parents and caregivers not to use any crib with missing, broken or lose pats. For more information on Crib Safety, visit CPSC’s Crib Information Center.
