A man was trapped in his truck after running a red light in downtown Dayton on Saturday morning, according to police.
The truck was traveling north on Patterson Boulevard when it struck another vehicle that was traveling west on East Fourth Street.
Emergency crews initially thought the driver, who was trapped in the truck, may have been fatally injured by part of a light pole that fell through the vehicle windshield. But after closer examination by a medical crew, the driver’s injuries were not as serious as originally thought.
The two people in the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
The driver of the truck was charged with running a red light. Dayton Police is investigating the crash to determine if speed was a factor.
